Manoa Falls Trail
If you've come to chase waterfalls this hike is for you. The Manoa Falls trail is a very popular hike in the valley. Known for its multitude of plant life it also comes with lots of mosquitos, nothing a little bug spray can't protect you from. Hike through the jungle, across little streams and through the bamboo forest until you reach a stunning waterfall at the end. This hike will leave you feeling as though you really experienced life on an island. Safe enough for kids, but still lengthy enough that it requires small snacks and lots of water.
Diamond Head Crater
Want to say you've been inside a volcano? Well now you can on the Diamond Head Crater Trail. Of course this volcano is dormant allowing the public to drive through the crater and park right in the center. This hike is dry and exposed so be sure to bring a hat and water with you. This trail has a slight incline as you climb one section of the crater to the top, but it is paved the entire way making it fairly easy to walk. Once you get to the top expect panoramic views of the south shore of Oahu. You can spot all of Waikiki and the coral reefs in the ocean below.
Ehukai Pillbox
Let's head to the iconic North Shore of Oahu. After a scenic drive to get to the base of this hike, its only a quick but steep path to the top. Beware of wild pigs as they love to frequent the area, but as usual nothing to worry about as there are always other people around making them stay away. Once you reach the top theres a nice platform for photo taking and the most iconic view of the some of the most surfed shoreline in the world.
Lanikai Pillbox
The east side of Oahu offers yet again, more scenic views of beautiful blue oceans. Lanikai is a great beach to stop and check out, with really blue water and super soft sand beaches its great for an entire day trip. Once you're near Lanikai you can park down the road and head to the base of this pillbox hike. Another quick steep hike up the mountain and you'll immediately see what types of views you're in for at the top. You'll see the two Molokini Islands and lots and lots of bright blue ocean for miles. If you're lucky on a clear day you may even see our other islands come shining through the horizon.
