Why should we upcycle?

The process of upcycling, whether its clothing or other everyday items, reduces our footprint on this planet. Keeping ourselves more environmentally conscious allows us to continue to live on a planet for years to come.

The current status of the retail/apparel industry is becoming outrageous. Clothing is made without thought, creating tons of waste for what? To bring you tens of thousands of new options every day? No one shops that much. Hence, creating tons of waste. Upcycling in the apparel industry allows us to try and balance out the waste by repurposing materials and garments into new items without creating any new waste.

How can you upcycle?

1. Break the system of traditional retail. Choose to be the right consumer. Purchase products that are made consciously and choose brands who believe in sustainable processes. Shop Vintage.

2. Upcycle items in your own closet. Find new ways to wear them. Get creative and make something new out of something old. Donate. Recycle. Re-gift or trade clothing with friends and siblings.
