5 Simple Ways to Protect Our Oceans

Did you know the ocean provides greater than 50% of the air we breathe?

Did you know the ocean covers 70% of the earth?

Did you know up to 80% of life on earth is found under the surface of the ocean?

Yet, we are not doing enough to save it.

The coral reefs are dying, marine life is not being protected, and our climate is suffering.

5 Simple Ways You Can Help Protect Our Oceans

1. Use Reef Safe Sunscreen,

Read the labels and confirm your sunscreen does NOT contain:
Oxybenzone
Octinoxate
Octocrylene
Homosalate
4-methylbenzylidene camphor
PABA
Parabens
Triclosan
Any nanoparticles or "nano-sized" zinc or titanium (If it doesn't "micro-sized" or "non-nano" and it can rub in, it's probably nano-sized)
Any form of micro plastic, such as "exfoliating beads"

2. Pick Up Trash When You See It,

This is the simplest way to help. Whether you're on the beaches or in the water if you see trash pick it up and throw it away. If you feel like doing more, join your local beach clean ups or organize your own!

3. Reduce Your Plastic Usage,

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Limit purchasing single use plastics when you can and opt for reusable options instead.
Check out our Accessories + Home Section for a few items you can purchase and  swap in your daily routines.

4. Protect Our Marine Life,

Keep them safe when you run into them in their habitats. Keep your distance and remember this is their home.

5. Explore the Ocean and Vote on Safe Practices in your Local and State Communities,

We protect what we love. Learning and sharing about how beautiful, useful, and needed our oceans are to us all allows us to spread awareness. Make sure to use your voice and vote for changes that will protect our planet.
